I love that top one.
Of course I love the pussy willow kitten too.
But I really love that top one.
Which top one, the snowy landscape? I decided to put them all together, I just thought it would be better for the site. It’s been nice for me to immerse myself in Ukrainian art this last week.
Edit.
My favorites are two of Serhii Vasylkivsky, the red sunset and the three horses in the field. Also the kitties with the pussywillows. Also! The pink kitty and the one like a Klimt.
The red and white cat.

Went to see the exhibition Revolusi! in Rijksmuseum today. Sobering experience. If I needed that. Fact is I was taught next to nothing about this period, not in school and not at home. The time from the moment Indonesia proclaimed itself independent in 1945, right after Japan’s capitulation, and the moment the Dutch finally accepted that independence in 1950. 5 Years of war and insurgency in between. Well put together. Much personal and oral history. And some interesting art. This my highlight, called The Bride of the Revolution, actually painted 7 years after by Hendra Gunawan.
