The Creepy Crawley, slithery and all misunderstood pets, wildlife and nightmares Thread (honey badgers and raccoons welcome) 🤣

I’m actually really unnecessarily scared of spiders :downcast_face_with_sweat: this biggy in my driving shed that my son pointed out
But I’m trying to coexist & appreciate them

Haven’t got a clue what the top ones are, but the bottom one is a Harvestman.
It’s got 8 legs but it’s not a spider (order Araneae) , but is still in the Arachnida class.
It has only 1 body part as opposed to the 3 of a true spooder, only 2 eyes as opposed to the the usual 8 or 6, no fangs or venom and doesn’t produce any silk.
The 12 classes of Arachnids:

And a few pics of my babies:

I think they’re American Grass Spiders (at least that’s what Google said 9/10 times ) They’re right next to my backdoor, so we’ve been neighbors for a while. Their web is really cool and they zip right back into it when they get spooked.

I love jumping spiders  They’re so cute! Frogs are cool too :call_me_hand:

We’ve got a bacterial/fungal infection in the frog tank :sob: & there’s nothing we can do about it.
We lost another male yesterday, so we’re just waiting to see if the remaining 2 can weather the storm.
Anyway some Spooder pics enjoy
The 1st 2 are Ronnie post molt and the others are Pip looking intimidating at just shy of 12mm :joy:

Thank you for your condolences.

He did a star jump, only landing all limbs out and a face plant

We suspect he had a heart attack, the possible cause of which are to numerous to go into.
But, definitely no more frogs until we chuck everything that’s in the tank and steriles the tank.

On another note, I’ve got to move Pip to a bigger enclosure, as he’s everywhere all the time, and I think he’s getting bored.
The move should prove interesting

I must say I was pretty spider avoidant most of my life but I like your little dudes. Your spooder’s make me happy. They aren’t scary, they are cute little demons. Thanks.

Is it a baby rattlesnake or imposter?

The common plume moth. I always find these super fascinating.
