The Creepy Crawley, slithery and all misunderstood pets, wildlife and nightmares Thread (honey badgers and raccoons welcome) 🤣

I’m sorry to report that we lost our last frog :frog: on Friday. Nothing we could do for them  they all succumbed to the same bacterial/viral waisting disease
No more frogs I’m concentrating on my spooderz now :spider:

Pip is definitely a female and at well over an inch she’s enormous.

Ronnie’s doing well very blue :joy:

And the final set-up

I’m so sorry to hear about your frogs, mate. :face_holding_back_tears:

However the spideys are looking well cool. :ok_hand:t2:

Glow worms, a baby crabby pants, and a spider with her spiderlings. West Sussex downs camping last year and on the south coast.

Amazing creatures. Camping brings so many beautiful surprises. The best is when bats fly over your camp fire to eat the bugs attracted by light.

Thorn, my red morph bearded dragon! He came out of brumation yesterday after 96 days! He got some exercise, sun bathed and ate 3 hornworms!

Distinguished Fella I must say…3 horn worms..? I have to look them up.

Edit.. was this on the menu?

Indeed! They are so gorgeous it’s almost a shame to use them as food! But, he needs soft food rather than his traditional crunchy meal worms! Plus a side of spinach :slightly_smiling_face:

Common side-blotched lizard! First I’ve seen this spring!

Prairie Rattlesnake I just spotted 100 feet behind my house! It’s overcast and drizzling, pretty much the opposite of what conditions I think of when I think of snakes laying about :snake: the diameter of this curled little one was about 4 inches which probably makes this a young or sub-adult!

The common side-blotched bois are all over the place now!

I have no idea? I do believe it to be a spider.

@tailee17
It’s a Common American house spider, beautiful
Totally harmless, well almost, they’ll bite if they think you’re gonna squidge them.
But even then it’s only like very, very mild bee sting, some local swelling, some redness and can be itchy.
Usual first aid, boil the effected part in battery acid, then amputate with a spoon and dip the stump in boiling tar :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Really House Spider? I would be anxious if I found this large of spider in the house.

Thanks so much for info…

That’s their name, but they’re found almost everywhere around the home, garden, workshops etc.
Very similar to our Giant house spider in the UK, which can grow upto about ¼" long with a leg span of 4" and they’re fucking fast.
