I had my window open (screen in place) and so the tile could dry after I mopped, also so my cats could enjoy the fresh air when they started chirping and chattering, so I grabbed my camera and ran around to the side of the house where I found this beauty! Nothing like a cats eye to spot a creepy crawly ![]()

Latest shots of the Webbers.
They build webs, tubes and hammocks, not to catch prey, but to lounge around on/in lazy buggers
They’re meant to actively hunt their food, which they do, but most of the time they wait until the food amble past them; the flys are just bimbling around and then bang, good night Vienna
Found a random baby milk snake in my house this afternoon. Seriously considering burning the whole place down as I may have convinced myself we probably had walls filled with baby snakes because its the only LOGICAL way it would have got in here ….
Definitely an uncomfortable feeling finding a snake inside your home I’m sure!
I too would have so many questions and imagine wild things, no doubt!
I looked up milksnakes as I’m unfamiliar with the species and found that they are non-venomous and that they “are able to climb and swim” according to Wikipedia. So maybe the little guy “climbed” into the house from outside? Little comfort I’m sure but still, something to consider when you are imagining walls full of snakes ![]()
How did you handle removing it from your home??
He was a feisty little guy who was trying to act really tough. Like got aggressive the moment I approached so trying to pick him up was out of the question ( plus snakes really give me the Ick!). I carefully swept him into a large dustpan and ran him outside to the garden. I live in a rural area so snakes around outside even sometimes on the porch ( usually garter snakes) isn’t uncommon but this is the first one I found inside. Hopefully never again!
Beautiful
, pop it in a well ventilated box and FedEx it to me ASAP

@Lezourez You can come collect him from my garden. I left him alive and well with the tulips out there. ![]()
My cat once left me a mouse ass as a gift. Like literally just the ass of the mouse. The only reason I could identify it , is the the tail was still attached .
Can’t afford the air fair or I probably would ![]()

It must be my eyesight I’ve had another look at the picture after you said it was big and although it’s blurry it’s more than likely to be a huntsman spider.
They don’t build webs, but actively hunt their prey very, very fast and have a stronger venom than the AHS, but still nout to write home about.
Great for pest control, becoming really quite rare in the UK ![]()

Thanks my friend… I did tell my roommate that we don’t kill spiders out doors. We all have to live together and have purpose even though it was pretty ugly.
So very sorry for your loss Jim ![]()
You’re back ![]()

The top one is a ‘Toothed Weaver’ ( Textrix denticulata,) found in the bath. It’s named toothed due to the large spinerets which look like teeth, doh. Fairly common, mildly venomous and about 10mm on average.
The others are of Ronnie and Pip.
