The harvest of sobriety

Have you ever noticed that the background on our virtual tokens is a field of ripe grains to harvest?

Even if it wasn’t done intentionally, what an excellent metaphor for reaping the fruits of our efforts to live a sober life. We have a lot of work ahead to harvest that field, but look at the bounty and potential that we have before us with each moment spent sober.

And the best part is that because there is so much grains we couldn’t possibly consume all alone. We have enough to share, so that those who have harvested for days and months and years can share some small amount of wisdom and guide those who have only a few paltry handfuls of grain.

Like grain, we can also store the result for use at a future time - when faced again with the urge to use we can draw on our good results to help encourage us to stay in this good place of recovery and healing and not go back to the life before we had plenty.

As we go through life and face new challenges we might worry about the future and about the new stressors that come, but we know that we will not need to worry about our addiction once we have been nourished by such a harvest.
