A dear friend sent me a link this morning to the 2016 interview Diane Sawyer had with Elizabeth Vargas. So very powerful, and it really struck a chord with me. What she said about the day a stranger found her made me relate because that is how I got my one and thankfully only DUI. It gave me a whole new perspective on that event, which was over 3 years ago. I wish I could have stopped drinking after that, but of course, I didn’t start my alcohol free journey until quite recently.
If you have some time, check out youTube (and grab a box of tissues).

Her book was a turning point for me. It is a really good memoir. The interview is good too. As a mother, the thing that stood out to me the most was “I could and would give up my life for my kids, but I couldn’t give up alcohol.”
