The One Thing You've Never Experienced?

Never had a honeymoon or proper getaway somewhere tropical :palm_tree: or interesting with my husband. We had tentative plans for Jan/Feb 2021… Someday…

Where would you go on your honeymoon? I always thought Hawaii would be nice honeymoon destination, but anywhere warm and historic will do me. I loved to travel but I can’t see this happening anytime soon.

My husband lived in Hawaii for a time in his early 20s and still has friends there. It would be neat to have him show me his old haunts, but it would also be an expensive trip. We were looking at visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands during the tail end of our long winter, but have just put an indefinite hold on any plans. We have done a lot of camping and backpacking over the years, love getting out in nature, so we have contented ourselves with what is within a day’s drive of us, which is quite a lot, actually. Like you said, we are just hunkering down and looking forward to hopefully doing some traveling later next year.

Been racking my brain to think of something I’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t done yet, and can’t think of a thing, except read War and Peace.

I’m surprised you haven’t done one

I’d like to try zip lining.

My unit gave me a choice between airborne school or combat swimmers school. I chose combat swimmers school, which had its own scares, like open water night swims. The threat of potentially drowning or being eaten by a shark was less terrifying to me, than the idea of having my chute fail and hitting the earth at terminal velocity.

Would you do a bungee jump? :flushed:

I have, a looong time ago.

Definitely took some getting used to. Finally decided that if something was down there, I’d never know until it was too late. Mostly did the side stroke at night, breast stoke during the day.

Flying a plane. I’ve always wanted to get a pilot license but never had the time or money. Something about being up in the air and have control seems so freeing in that wide open space.

As y’all know by now I was raised in the Pentecostal church. I never learned to do makeup (still can’t and I usually don’t feel the urge to do it) and I never learned to play cards. In any way, even if I do Tarot now :joy:
Still can’t and it doesn’t feel necessary to learn even if I did break every other church rule there was. Until I was a grown up I never played any board game containing a dice either and I’m still awesome at quiz games rather than the dice ones.

Oh and I can’t drive a car, I’m planning on taking my license next year, but this far I’m 35 and have never even tried to drive a car before.

Don’t do it, it’s hysterically long and boring :joy:

My ex-wife used to assure me that sky-diving without a parachute is a once in a lifetime experience. Not sure what she meant by that

Not even as a field trip with school? Maybe you guys don’t do that? We have to visit all of the world religion churches here in high school as field trips. Moské, churches, synagogue, Buddhist temple and Hinduist places (my school was at a Hare Krishna place)

I’ve never been to a fancy restaurant. You know, get dressed up, have tiny food on white plates. The most expensive restaurant I’ve been to was Tony Roma in Guam.

Well I’ve been to many many churches, temples, mosques etc. I’ve never attended church would be more clear. I was raised non-religious and ended up a Taoist or at least trying. This place is here where I live and I go often…
