Hi I’m Caitlin and I’m an alcoholic.
Very grateful to be sober today and to have continuous support from loved ones and those also in recovery!
I pray for the still struggling alcoholics and pray that they get the help needed.
293 days sober and counting!
‘Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I can’t change , the courage to change the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference’
Comment below what your in recovery for and how long?
Well done Jms! You should be proud, one day at a time! Keep going to meetings & I also do alot of meditation to help calm me and it really does help take all your stress/worries away for a while! xx
God grant me the serenity to accept the people, places and things I cannot change, the courage to change the 1 thing I can change, and the wisdom to know that the 1 thing I can change is my thoughts, my feelings and my actions.
Are you a new member to AA? Well done!! I won’t tell you it’s going to be easy but it does definitely get easier to fight the urges are you going to go to meetings?
Reciting this prayer in my head big time today, both as an affirmation that I did the right thing but also giving me strength to carry through this very difficult day.
Day 285 since the last drink I will ever take. I am free, and I will never again put on those chains. There is serenity in freedom, peace in liberty. I am serene and at peace, regardless of what is going on in my life.
You should be up to 309 days by today @Caitlin_Williams! Congratulations & love your post highlighting the beloved Serenity Prayer. I keep it on my desk, look at it daily & refer to it often. I’m an alcoholic & my name is Tracy. February 22, 1992 was my first day sober. I have 26 years of sobriety today. Thanks to God & Alcoholics Anonymous
