Which interval of meetings do you like most f2f?

3-5 per week and 7 or more per week ought to be on the list, too.
I know.
Itās an inquiry as I am about to start a meeting locally myself and most of them here are once every two weeks which I think is rather complicated for my small brain to remember the weeks.
I am inclined to go for weekly.
I canāt fathom biweekly or monthly meetings. If itās biweekly and I canāt make it, then itās a full month in between meetings. Thatās too long for me and I lose the spirituality and connection
My home group is 3 days a week. Some around here are 5 days a week.
The general advice I hear for starting groups is to not directly compete with another group or set of groups, unless there is a large unmet need locally. And any groups I have started or been part of from early days have always presented content that was lacking - one was a reading of āAs Bill Sees Itā, one was a meditation meeting, one is a literature meeting (big book, 12&12, and Living Sober). My pet peeve is new 12 & 12 meetings that do not include the traditions.
Tradition 4: Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as a whole.
Starting a group is a matter affecting other groups, or can be. Seek local advice!
And damn, I love to see people getting into service and starting groups, it does my heart good!
Franzi, I know you are in Europe, so maybe there is an equivalent for you - in the US, the General Service Office in NYC will send a new group packet, including pamphlets and other information, if you ask for it. They will also point a new group to their local service structure, for things like web sites and inclusion of the new meeting in the Meeting Guide app.
I am already in contact with the local support system to start a group who help finding a room and people and so on.
When I first got sober I was 12 meetings a week. Nowadays I like to get to 3 and also have a service commitment. If I only did one meeting a week I probably would not have stayed sober.

Iāve actually been thinking of investing in buying one soon
I really like this.
Right? Itās a cool concept. Innovation is really a leap of technology and technique, but also a leap of faith: letās go do something new.
This is also related to trippy relativity things, like the faster you go, the slower you age (and the closer you get to the speed of light, the closer you get to not aging at all: the passage of time stops at that point). That kind of speed (more than 10 or 20 percent of the speed of light) is not something in any near-term possibility, but it is there, theoretically, and - like Mount Everest - sometimes the reason to climb something is because itās there
The concept of space freaks me out: it is infinite, but then again we all know that nothing really is infinite and if that is the case, what is beyond space? And beyond that?
My teenage-angst riddled brain had a few meltdowns over this back in the days and I consciously decided that this question was too big for me to safely ponder. Can you imagine being on a space journey with not much else to think about? I would be ready for the asylum within 24 hoursā¦
It is definitely a mind trip. Donāt you think itās kind of like the Pacific Islanders though? The way they travelled thousands and thousands of kilometres from Southeast Asia, over a period of centuries, and populated the most isolated islands in the world?
What do you think about while youāre sailing the Pacific with no idea - at all - where you will land? No idea of where the Pacific ends, or whether there is an end. I imagine that would actually stimulate some zen-like introspection and acceptance (helpful in space travel, and in recovery! ).
I bought one this year and I love it. It was a cheap walmart bike, but it works.
I love my bike. Itās nothing special. But I definitely put a lot of miles on it. I especially like on my days off when I just push my limits and bike somewhere new or far away And I really can see life better. Throughout my life I have spent more time on a bike than a car. Recently my dad talked about helping me get a car because of my credit which Iām grateful for the opportunity but I told Him at this point Iām not ready for that responsibility and really have no need for it especially living downtown. I have a Florida drivers license but Iām not sure how because I canāt even park in between cars and Iāve never driven on the highway. I feel like having a car would be a major change and I feel like I have a good routine right now. Plus all this biking probably keeps my energy levels up. Anyway thatās my I like my bike story/ scared of cars lol
