Today, is where my battle is (every week)

Ugh, its so nice out. Last work day of the week for me today.this is where the problem is for me, I want to end the week with a 6pack (we know it goes to more) I’ve gotten pretty good at waiting till the end of the work week, much more than I can say for years past. Any advice? I really dont know how people do it

New habits and routines. Instead of making that six pack a reward, plan something else. A good dinner, hobbies, spending my beer money on cameras was great for me in the beginning and It helped me spend my drinking time better too.
You could check out meetings, read and participate here.
We are creatures of habit and routine. Switching the routine and making new habits is tricky at first. Its been good for me.

I’m with Jason and his advice. Do something else instead of drinking. A meeting or hanging out here or both seems like good ideas. It IS a choice. Even when the alcohol makes us believe it is not, the urge is too strong, we just have to drink, etcetera. Not true. We can choose not to. Being with folks who are doing the same helps, just like drinking with others helps to drink more. It was only in the last years of my drinking career I drank lots alone too.

Be proud of your sober days! Don’t you think it feels amazing when you can look back and see a sober weekend?

Play the tape forward: What happens after that sixpack? You don’t want to go there, friend. If you could drink in moderation, you would have done it in the past. You can’t, like we all can’t.

Break your old habit. Do something else. Distract yourself actively from thinking about drinking. That’s how other people do it.

Tell us: What is something you like to do?
I’m sure it’s something else than your addictions stupid idea to kill yourself with alcohol.

I find it more difficult at the weekends but I’m doing it .

These guys are right you have to plan something else . Keep your mind occupied elsewhere. I’m about to hit 14days and I’m so proud of that !

This weekend I have planned my whole time at home. So I don’t have time to drink .
Also finding something else you like to drink is sometimes a good idea .

I’m trying out all different sodas and soft drinks and I out it in a glass with ice usually to make if fancy :joy:

I have found my passion for my hobbies again or I’m starting to x

That’s awesome James. I am so happy for you that you do the work and build a better life for yourself. You deserve it!

I am doing good, just relaxing before bed (it’s already evening here in Germany). Tomorrow I will do some chores around my apartment, paint my nails, do some rowing and cuddle the cats :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Enjoy your day!
