Trav's Touchstone

Its definitely a relief not having to deal with it. Its just a struggle at the moment being overwhelmed with a few stresses that I dont need. Internal beat down thoughts.

Having bipolar and borderline personality disorder. I can sit in an endless funk. Using and drinking was a way to quiet my mind enough for me to function.

Im at the point at the moment where im looking at every liquar stores contemplating walking in.

I wont but fuuuuuck I want too. Thats just my current reality.

I hear you, I still struggle at times with my old ways of coping with anxiety and stress. It is so easy to fall back into escape…especially trying to quiet our internal thoughts. And with your bi polar and bpd it adds up to a lot. It is good you keep in contact here and get support. One day at a time.

Medication. Which I have been off track with lately which really isnt helping, from time to time I seek councilling when needed.

Its taken years to get formally diagnosed. I try very hard to stay level.

I reckon neurospicy people have more fun :upside_down_face:

Most days are good, some days and bad then there’s the odd manic episode. It is what it is.

Maybe in all my years of being a daily/almost daily drinker when I wanted to stop or at least be a normie but didn’t really have the tools or understanding of my addiction - I found the self destruct button very easily. Bad day at work - drink. I couldn’t list all my self destruct reasons for drinking or I’d be here all day.

This time I can’t self sabotage or self destruct. Coming to here every day helps with that.

Thats exactly it aye bro I literally cant afford to do it either these days.

Venting here is easier than potentially losing every thing and ending up locked up.

Good to here youre handling your mental health. Definitely lean on your supports. I highly recommend therapy before crisis levels. Are there a lot of providers down under?

Preface: 100% ok and safe.

Does anyone else ever get so disappointed in the current human race?

We just celebrated a Public Holiday centered Around a part of Maori culture. Yet every time I open a comments section all I can see is racism and division. The internet giving people a voice from behind a screen that would get you punched in the face since ages ago.

Im super over the Anti Everything brigade. It does my head in a bit to be fair, why cant the world just be nice to each other? To many people are caught up in the lives of others that have nothing to do with themselves. Its weird.

Edit: This is how I am raised. It does not matter if you are a CEO or a person who lives in the street we are all human and should be treated as such. I have no issues with anyone from any race, gender or sexuality. As long as who you are what you do and what you practice does not hurt another person and its concentual then its none of my business.

Everyone looks at Aotearoa/New Zealand as this land of beauty and peace. When in reality its just the same as everywhere else. Its reasonably safe ill give it that. We have heavy gun control which is a good thing too. But please dont ever think this is the land of dreams. Like anywhere else the rich are staying rich while we struggle week to week.

Im just having a rant cause sometimes writing things down is good.

Why cant we all just get along.

Sometimes I really wish we could just stop the planet and hitch a ride somewhere else.⁸

I absolutely do… its quite sad honestly. I find social media sooo bad for seeing what the human race is capable of. It disturbs me with what I see being said and done :frowning:

On the other hand, theres plenty of good being done also. It just seems that the negative is more spoken about than the good.

Yes the human race is disappointing.

There is a lot of beauty in it though. The ugly hides it sometimes.

Yeah fuck sobriety can hit pretty hard sometimes.

Its easy to feel like we deserve a reward for being better, then life keeps kicking.

We have to remember that recovery is the reward. It doesn’t always feel like it.

Stay strong my friend!
