I would go for walks, listen to sobriety podcasts, stay hydrated and ate good.

My wife (31 years off heroin) says York peppermint patties helped with her cravings.

I walk. 16,983 steps yesterday, 12,707 today. Helps me with my cravings, gives me a lot of time to think and helps me sleep well. My goal is 25k steps.

I recommend walking as well, it’s good for some exercise and some time killing, as getting sober wasnt just about not drinking it was about better health overall and a better overall feeling of myself. When I first got sober I would average like 22k steps a day, I would listen to tunes, keep my head up and eyes open so I can take in all the things around me which helped me stay in the present, I’d also rattle off gratitude lists about things I was presently seeing, smelling and hearing.

I would also work on the HALT things, I put a sleep schedule in place, even if I didn’t get to sleep right away I made a habit of doing it at the same times. Made a habit of having an eating schedule, cause you’re not you when you’re hungry lol. Hit a lot of meetings and that 100000% made me feel less alone in this endeavor of being sober in a world that appears to be high and drunk everywhere. And worked on a connection with some higher power, actually got on knees and prayed or talked to it/myself, did more gratitude lists with some specificity/details of why I was truly grateful.

Play the tape through, see the whole picture all the way through. You know what it will start like, how the middle will and and the eventual end of it will feel. See it and feel it before you do it.

Getting through cravings can be tough, but it’s entirely possible, I know so many people who have made it through the other side and YOU CAN be one of them too.
