Update on Purim trip

For those that commented on my post about me being sad about not being able to drink etc…

Well…… I didn’t! I’m still on my trip. It started last Thursday and we leave this Thursday. People were sooooooo supportive. The host even bought me the most beautiful tea pot and some amazing teas and giving me tea that she got when she traveled to turkey and Israel. Whenever it was brought up people said “wow that’s amazing” “I should do that” the best one I heard was “you know more people are quitting drinking bc of all the amazing health benefits”

Last night was hard. Which was weird bc we weren’t doing anything. Which I think that triggered it. So I opened my NA wine and it went away. Maybe the sweetness I missed. Who knows. But I haven’t craved it since being here besides that one time!!

That’s great! Learning how to ride the wave of life’s ups and down is a great process. Opening up about it with supportive people helps too :innocent: Happy for you!

I must have missed the back story to this. But I’m glad you find socialising without booze enjoyable. In general there are two types of people once you stop drinking: those that support you, encourage you and don’t question your decision apart from some open curiosity. And then there are those who question your not-drinking and try to convince you to just have one, etc, usually out of their own guilt of having an unhealthy relationship with booze themselves. You know the people you should stick to and the ones you should avoid.
Enjoy the rest of your trip
