Valentine's Exchange

Hey, there! We are about to launch our 7th Annual Valentine’s Exchange. The signup opens in January. How does it work? You select how many Valentine’s you’d like to send and you’ll receive the same amount back. The first year, I only did four. Last year, I did 40. It’s super fun to get Valentine’s from all over the US and the World.

If you are interested, let me know and I will PM you the signup link when it goes live and add you to the FB group, if you have Facebook.

Please only sign up if you will follow through. It’s a real bummer, especially for the people who sign up just for a few, not to get one back. It really is a blast. It will lift your heart and you’ll want to participate every year forever. Mwaaahaaaa.

Pick me. Pick me.

This is just the thing my crafty ass has been looking for as I try and ease back into hobbies.

Thanks!

Also. No FB here. I had to delete social media as I couldn’t control people that messaged me. I couldn’t block everyone and it works better for me.

The Facebook group is primarily for ongoing instructions and people to post pics of their works in progress and what they’ve received. This year, though, I think she is also going to have it on a blog. As soon as the sign up link goes live, I will message it to you all. Getting them in the mail will make you feel like a kid.

The first year we had 20 participants. Last year, we had over 200. My teens participate independently, now. It’s quite the project around here.

Valentines can be store-bought or handmade.

Info from the fearless leader: Aunt Pammy. I understand some of you don’t’ have social media and that’s OK. We can post pics of our Valentine’s in this thread and if you want me to share the pic in the Facebook group or on Insta, I can. It helps to grow our participation.

ALL THE DETAILS:

This is a card swap via snail mail.

Thought your days of exchanging Valentines were over?

Have a strong desire to cover a shoe box in red and pink construction paper and stickers?

Do you secretly love candy conversation hearts?

Then this is the activity for you!

Read all instructions for 2021.

Follow the link way down below to sign up before Jan 28th.

Joining this FB group will NOT register you for the swap. You must fill in the google doc registration form to be included.

2021 Valentine Exchange Info

1.You pick the number of Valentines you agree to mail out on Feb. 8, 2021*.

  1. Valentines can be purchased or homemade OR a combo of both.

No reason why you can’t make 3 cards and buy 7. Or make them all. Or buy them all. Totally up to you.

  1. *We mail on Feb. 8, 2021. It isn’t mandatory, but part of the fun is that we do this on the same day. If your schedule is busy and you mail early, that’s fine. If you are running behind, by all means, mail your Valentines ASAP, even if it’s past 2/8/21.

But if you can, let’s all mail as a group.

  1. Filling out the google doc. is how you register.

You will enter your email and mailing address. Please, PLEASE, double check your info before you hit “Submit”. If you make a mistake, I will have no way of contacting you and you WILL NOT GET A LIST OF ADDRESSES, nor will you receive any Valentines.

  1. On or around Feb. 1, you will get an email from me with a list of all the people and their addresses that you will mail Valentines to. If you do not get your list, please email me.

  2. Most addresses are within the US. A growing number are international. You must be willing to send a card(s) overseas.

It’s not that expensive—-$1.20 for a standard card.

  1. Please join this Facebook Group or go see the Instagram account (both with the auntpammysvalentineexchange name) for updates and info.

Tips:

Error on the side of “too many”. Every year people say they wished they had signed up for more.

Keep in mind that some participants are teens. Valentines need to be rated G. It’s a time of friendship and goodwill. People sending inappropriate Valentines will be blocked from future exchanges. If you happen to get a card you find questionable, please contact me.

Extra items in envelopes wind up being wildly pricey. A .55 card can climb to $4.00 by just adding a fridge magnet or candy.

Extras for International will be super expensive.

FYI.

Post pics of the darling cards you receive here on social media with the hashtag #auntpammysvalentineexchange.

Bask in the love.

Make a new friend (or two).

^ Speaking of such, feel free to share this event and invite your friends. Just direct them to this event or share the link directly.

“What if I sign up and then can’t do it?”

Hey, sometimes it just doesn’t work out.

I have people who can cover your list for you, but I have to know about it in due time.

If it’s looking like a no-go, contact me ASAP.

Registration is opening soon!

I love this! Sign me up!!

I was about to ask is this something we give our personal addresses out for?

I mean I think it’s kinda cool, and most people her on TS I have a decent relationship with, but if I proceed I might consider a PO box

The address goes on the sign up. It goes to my friend Pam and then to as many VDay card participants as you sign up for. So, if you decided to do five cards, five other people get your address.

They are all somehow connected to each other and nefarious types don’t generally participate in Valentine Exchanges. I mean, it could happen. But, no, you don’t post your information here in the forum, or to all participants.

And finally, the sign-up moment has arrived!!!

Since it’s our 7th year, she’s got it pretty well sorted out, but let me know if you have any questions.

It wouldn’t phase me to be honest, I did bunch of online dating and i survived but I share a flat as the rest of the world calls it and my housemates might be a little timid about it.

Me personally, j have tons of PI training, I could learn more with less
