Ways to deal

Hi people, I dont do it everyday but everytime I drink i want to do drugs. I’ve tried so hard not do do this but there is almost a demon that takes over and it happens even though I dont want it too. I’ve downloaded this cause I want to go sober has anyone else had these issues and have any advice on how to handle it.

Welcome NG. I think everybody here for sobriety has had this issue. The tip I’ll give is to submerge yourself in sobriety related content. Here’s a great link below to check out if you want.

What’s YOUR plan?

I have! Not in the later years, because I only drank beer by that point. Ya know…I had a deal with myself.

So your voice that isn’t yours exists, it’s just well fed at the moment. You starve it and it becomes weaker and you become stronger by resisting it.

A good whisper and you’ll carry on the thought. Other times it’s I want to chat to… and … will be in a pub say drinking.

Have sweet things to negate cravings early on. Chat to someone if you are in your head a bit too much. too much sugar or salt creates ptsd like triggers for me balanced diet, lean meat and vegetables and you get your body stronger and your mind also matches.

Month 6 is when the monologue stopped for me because it just doesn’t work I wouldn’t cave and I got bored listening. it’s like an ant biting a dog it ain’t doing nothing.
