This is so true. And the hard thing (for me) at times is the prejudice, not only from others, but sometimes within myself. The idea that somehow I’m less valuable or have less dignity than others.
Ahhh, but there my friend is how our addict minds will try to sell us untruths. You have more than others, as I see it, you came clean to yourself and others and you continue to do & help those who ask. Altruistic path we are attempting.
I agree with Smitty! In fact, I’ll take it a step further. Alcoholism is the only disease, that when we get better we are even a better version of ourselves.
