Yeah the first week is horrible. I really spent the first 5 days or so feeling like absolute shit. Congrats on a week sober. You’re gonna have other hurdles to get over, but it really gets better. :v::muscle:

Well done!
For me the first 10 days are always the hardest. Failed many times. Now over 200 days. Never could have imagined of getting this far. It really gets easier once you are over the first weeks. Hang in there, good luck and you’ve got this! This place has helped me a lot.

I found the first week alright just had a bit of a comedown from alcohol. The hardest part is keeping it up. Trying to resist temptation and voices in my head telling me it’ll be alright to have a couple.

Keep it going pal

Yeah that little voice in my head is horrible, telling me one more time wont hurt you deserve it. I call that the little Tom but big Tom is winning so far :muscle:

I quit drinking and smoking cold turkey and today is day 14. I quit on Sunday 3 Dec. Last weekend was tough … our house is stocked up with wine (my drink of choice), and it took every ounce of my being to fight the temptation. I had a ladies lunch yesterday with ex colleagues and it was so good to drive myself there and home again, no uber required, no temptation to order an alcoholic drink. I think the longer you can fight the urge, the easier it gets. Christmas is around the corner and I’ve already purchased non-alcoholic wine and ciders. Im super committed to my sobriety. Good luck x

Congrats on 2 weeks SAF, and welcome to the community. Lizanne. Anyway you can get the alcohol that’s in your house out so you won’t be tempted?

Thank you … I will be gifting the wine to friends for Christmas. I know I can make it through the next week without being tempted
