Its a great thread isnt it  nice work on getting off the 16.6 :grinning:ā€¦ Its such a huge motivation for me to see the numbers go down on my scales. I know that the numbers on the scales to translate to the actual reality of what our bodies are actually transitioning too etc, but either way it provides me with daily motivation and inspiration and a remember to keep myself in check for the dailyā€¦ Iā€™m a visual person. I like to see things on paper. And seeing numbers works for meā€¦ Keep up the good work @SobahCobra79

@Truckinmonster21 hiya j ā€¦ Howā€™s your journey going? Sticking to it or is it getting harder now your weather is getting colder and its winter comfort food time !?! ā€¦ When I lived in new York I ate so often and a lot because when its cold and snowing and wet out, you tend to be indoors with food lol :joy:ā€¦ Im going to get back on the thread again regularly, its time to get my self focused on training again! Iā€™ve not jumped on my bike for like a month ekkkkk :grimacing:

Maybe you peeps on this thread can keep me motivated lol. Iā€™ve lost 50 lbs this year, and itā€™s kind of plateauā€™d now. I guess I wouldnā€™t be that disappointed if I didnā€™t lose any more weight, but I have been working out 2 hrs a day, 6 days a weekā€¦and now Iā€™m losing my motivation because itā€™s not showing on the scale. Havenā€™t given up yet but I was close this morning.

I thought maybe it would be a good idea to post here. My name is Deb and Iā€™m nearing the 4 week/1 month mark of no alcohol and now 2 consistent weeks of starting to work out (indoor cycling). In 2 weeks Iā€™m down 2lbs (starting at 151.8 lbs and now 149.8 lbs). Its not a lot, but it is a start. Im 5ā€™ 4" and 46 years old. Im hoping to get to roughly 120 lbs give or take.

Couple different thingsā€¦
Itā€™s good to understand why you have reached a plateau.
-Lower calorie requirement: As your body loses weight, you actually need fewer calories to maintain your sizeā€”smaller bodies require less caloric energy for upkeep than larger bodies do. If your eating plan doesnā€™t adjust as you lose weight, you could reach a point of equilibrium where you end up consuming the same number of calories your body burns each day, bringing on a weight-loss plateau.
-Loss of muscle mass: In addition to your body needing fewer calories as you lose weight, metabolic rate often dips. For some people, this is partly explained by a loss in muscle mass that can occur with weight loss. Muscle tissue burns more energy than fat, which means loss of muscle has a more pronounced metabolic impact.

Letā€™s think about ways to help ya out here. First off, people tend to underestimate how much they actually eat. Measuring portions and tracking what you eat eliminates the guesswork that can lead to weight-loss plateaus. If needed, reset some of the habits you developed in the beginning of your weight-loss plan: Stick to appropriate serving sizes, of what youā€™re eating and drinking, and put together a meal plan for the days ahead. Secondly, you should make sure to go big on fruits and veggies. Remember how the bodyā€™s daily energy requirement goes down with weight loss? Fresh produce can be helpful for powering through a related plateau. Nonstarchy vegetables such as cauliflower, broccoli, beets, asparagus, and leafy greens are not only low in calories; they deliver fiber to keep you satisfied. And whether enjoyed whole, blended into a frozen treat, or baked infruit can help satisfy a sweet tooth while imparting similar nutritional perks.

Let me know if you have any questions or need more tips. This is completely normal in your weight loss journey and my sound advice for most of my clients who get frustrated with this is to stick to the plan and continue to track calories. Good luck

Letā€™s get ahead of the holiday bloat lolā€¦ So then at actual Christmas we can eat all the food we want lol :joy:ā€¦ In Australia our Christmas generally falls on a hot summers day so our days are spent eating seafood, prawns (shrimp) is a staple for us at Christmasā€¦ Also Christmas hamā€¦ We do big Xmas hams here , kinda like you guys do a big ass turkey at TG, at Christmas we do baked ham. There is always so much left overs to last a week lolā€¦ Xmas pudding with custard is huge. Its so yummyā€¦ And in the past the alcohol consumption was next level but that is a thing of the past !.. This year its just la Croix lol :joy: so letā€™s beat the Xmas bloat for the next 9 days to then we can feed our bellys on Xmas day properly lol !.. Whatā€™s your Christmas day food situation like at home or a the familyā€™s ? !?!

Yesssss this is motivation. Nice one!!!.. I was at a stage where I was doing two 45 min a day work outs and I craved it. It made me feel so good doing it twice a dayā€¦ But I havenā€™t for the past month. Iā€™m slowly getting back into it this weekā€¦ Great to see your commitment :grinning:

So I just weighed in at 72.2kg. Im down 3kgs but itā€™s also up 2kg because I did get down to 70kg two weeks ago, but that wasnā€™t a healthy weight lossā€¦letā€™s see how I go by the end of the week. I will up my work out time and get in a 10k step walk as well as a bike ride. I think thatā€™s a good start :grinning:
