Welcome back Paul. The more times I went out the harder it was to get back. Glad youā€™re here

Once you get out of the habits and routines of drinking/using then it is easier to maintain sobriety, for sure. (There is still the trap of complacency, of course). Then you fall back into those habits and routines in the blink of an eye. How did you quit for 6 months? What extra can you do? :purple_heart:

Iā€™m not trying to beat a dead horse here:

This was me for so long:

The inconsistency is made worse by the things he does on his sprees. Coming to his senses, he is revolted at certain episodes he vaguely remembers. These memories are a nightmare. He trembles to think someone might have observed him. As fast as he can, he pushes these memories far inside himself. He hopes they will never see the light of day. He is under constant fear and tensionā€”that makes for more drinking.

I been there and that was absolutely my lowest point. When I knew how bad I wanted to get sober, but couldnā€™t stop and was afraid going through that first week once again. The people in IOP really helped me. Get around people that can help you through it, even a meeting. Lean on these people now.
