There’s a fair amount of controversy about non-alcoholic beer. Apparently non-alcoholic beer contains a miniscule amount of alcohol, because of the manufacturing process. I have tried these a few times. But I don’t feel anything. For me they are like any other non alcoholic drink. I can see advantages of non-alcoholic beer at social occasions. What’s your opinion about non-alcoholic beer?
Well. I was drinking non alcoholic beer almost every day after I stopped drinking alcohol in May. I thought it is ok bcs it doesn’t contain alcohol right. I would have 2 or 3 of them. Then I relapsed. And now I am not drinking it at all.
I think it is alright occassionaly. Not like me when I was basically building another addiction on something else…
The most important is the mindset. Than you maybe will not want even non alcoholic beer like me now.
I prefer a pint of Lime and Soda now. Zero interest in getting near temptation. I wouldn’t snort coke that had no effect, smoke cigarettes that had no nicotine, or drink booze that had the stuff that got me wasted taken out.
I did all that shit to get out of it, not feel the same!
Strange thing is, I gave all three up when they seemed to have no effect any more (apart from giving me a strong feeling I was killing myself).
In the beginning I didn’t take anything at all for like a month but then I started clausthauler lemon non-alcoholic beer.I drink it if on a trip or sometimes during my off. They just make me feel tired after I taking 2 cans 500ml each. They don’t make me wanna go back to drinking alcohol again.
Just doint drink anything that Says ALCOHOL
Tastes like shit. Rather than drink NA beer I much prefer to work on my disease so I don’t have to feel like I need to fit in by drinking at social gatherings.
I started drinking non alcoholic beer at a party and then started drinking reg beers after 2 or 3 of them… I don’t recommend it… Now when I’m out I have a seltzer with lime and cranberry
It’s a great question of my life, OP!!!
Like, I’m a sober newbie; I want to feel punk, like you know, I’m sober but also cool and a total rebel (it kind of helps that in Eastern Europe the sober is quite a bit of a freak, which helps my punk and rebel self-image).
Also, for some reason, even though all my friends (including former drinking buddies) are supportive, this whole thing is so ingrained in our culture that for some reason everyone really appreciates if i drink beers with them. Even if my beer is NA. Like, thy prefer it to me drinking a lemonade ridiculous, but i am such the emathic type that i do this for friends.
But, i can’t decide what to think of 0.5% “NA” beers, Apparetly, there would be this much A in a well fermented kefir (which i also love, and most certainly not for its psychoactive properties). Like, like… someobdy help me! What do i even think of this???
Sorry mate, you gotta except the fact that you’re an alcoholic, you friends have to accept the fact as well and you are going to be drinking pop.
You need to to just do you.
Changing mindset is the biggest help you can do for yourself. Believe me.
First of all, input appreciated! Second, tough… if I do me, then it is either pop or NA beer. Like, yeah, I’m an alcoholic, and a sober one at that, but then I might just go my own way
On the other hand, I already had one NA beer today, with my brother, who was just plain drunk in the middle of the day O_O and no, so far I found no way to convince him to stop drinking. Well, I wasn’t very pushy about it either, but in the end it is his choice, not my push, that can change things.
The one I had today, with him, was called “Nature Citron”, or something along those lines, and was basically a lemonade mascerading as a beer.
Which points back to our culture: a proper lemonade is for children. Yuck, I guess. Usually, the really crappy sodas are meant for the children. They are our future, after all whereas a lengthy selection of alcoholic beverages is meant for grown ups. Any maybe, just maybe, also something NA that is packaged like a proper real adult drink. Like my lemonade mascerading as a beer
And now I think I do know what i think of NA beers. They are basically sodas - but pretending to be adult drinks, in our slightly sick culture that normalizes and expects alcohol consumption from adults, at all times.
And I don’t even mind. If I keep buying my NA beers, maybe the market will eventually boost its supply of NA drinks targeted at strong purchasing power adults like myself.
Good luck with that one buddy.
I’ll stick to Blackcurrant and lemonade with pride.
I don’t need an adult drink to prove I’m an adult!
Thanks for your feedback, buddy. It was kind, supportive, and respectful, like these forums should be.
Dude, did you even read my post before responding?
I was at a very boozy wedding last night, but they had hot apple cider and it was delicious. They also had water, which was nice because it was so hot. Then I had some coffee with my cookies to end the night. Oh and I even snuck a red bull in there. I don’t think anyone noticed what I was drinking, but I always had a drink in my hand.
I had 4 NA beers yesterday. I felt like if there was alcohol around I would have given in to the temptation. Not something I should drink at a party
Totally resonates with me
My opinion of NA beer is what’s the point . If I’m not going to get that buzz or drunk I would much rather use my tastebuds on something else. Also I have never tried a NA beer because again I don’t see the point of it. Obviously my drinking was to get to some kind of feeling…which I always took to far. So now that I’m thinking of that, I would prob crave a real beer if I tried drinking NA.
