What 'ales' you? Aches, pain and such

Yeah but I’m talking about thc which is fat soluble which means it last about 30 days unlike every other drug which are water soluble and last about 2-3 days

Smart appealed to me for its self-managed, science and evidence based approach to recovery. I wasn’t prepared to give myself to a higher power or to give alcohol anymore power over myself in recovery. It has had enough power for decades. My sobriety is my choice, taking back the power alcohol once had on my life, and channeling it into a positive new life. It doesn’t matter what approach you use, as long as it works for you. There have been several Americans attending Australian meetings, indicating they like the option of harm reduction and not just abstinence, as encouraged in US smart meetings. I haven’t verified this myself. Dr K’s approach to mental health in young people seems innovative and relatable. It was a welcome surprise to see him and his team looked quite young. So used to seeing a middle aged or older mental health or psychology team. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Just relatability to younger populations is all.

What a gorgeous bunch of Huskies! Lucky you look strong enough to carry one down a mountain. A different kind of rucking. I love the views as well. Looks like your happy place.

Yeah exactly why I was thinking about looking more into smart. Im agnostic and dont really like the idea of god or higher powers and all that. I think using a scientific approach is much better at least for me

Ahh yeah. That takes a whole lot longer if your not an active person. Good luck man.

The struggle is real and unique to your situation. Sugar intake often increases in sobriety, as our brain craves a hit similar to the substance or drink previously used. As @Chino.Antrax stated, eating more than we used to may be related to eating less during addiction, then eating ‘normally’ afterwards.

So glad you managed to regulate your eating. 100lbs extra must’ve come with its own aches, pains and challenges.

I am agnostic too. There are plenty of people with spiritual and religious beliefs, attending smart meetings. I’m not saying one approach is better than the other. There have been great success stories using either or.

All good! Thanks for sharing a bit more about yourself. With hiking places like those, it’s no wonder you and your Huskies look happy.

Honestly, I was still pretty nimble. I was always able to move around the way I wanted. Just got tired really quick. It wasn’t till I got my work injuries that I had to chill on some stuff. Blood work was always good too. Crazy huh. Maybe its because my job requires me to walk up to 10 miles a day. The hospital I work in is humongous. One of the biggest in the county, and I gotta walk it all day.

Yeah o tried na and did not like it at all. I’m just speaking on myself though

That’s incredible how you were still agile, with blood tests showing good results. My healthy weight is 85kg/185lbs. Once I ballooned to 120kg/265lbs of pure overindulgence. Alcohol, weed, inactivity (gaming all day) and unhealthy food choices got me from ideal weight to obese in 6 months. I was riddled with aches, pain and mental health issues. How much you walk for work seems a blessing in disguise, even if it may be tiring.

You just described my first 3 years of sobriety lol minus the drugs and alcohol. I would just eat all day. I use to say I was “catching up” for all the eating I missed while high  I was 198 lbs at the end of my using. I shot up to 320. Now I’m around 250-260…somehow fasting came naturally to me lol since I use to go days without eating.
Hey, a lot can happen in 6 months.

The similarities in our past are there for sure. Fasting is something I’m curious about. I’ve begun listening to when my body tells me I’m hungry, before I eat breakfast. This often means I will eat breakfast between 10-11am. What’s your fasting plan?

Oh man. You must be an early bird. I sleep from 5am through 1130am. I dont eat till around 430pm or 5. But, I have my last meal at 1230am.

Yeah, when the sun’s up I tend to wake up. Then there’s my 5 & 7 year old kids too. I would’ve usually eaten breakfast at 630-7am, but now I wait until I feel hungry. Your hours look much different to mine. Are you on shift work?

Yeah. No kids for me, yet. Lol. I work 3 to 12pm. I tire out my husky during the night…religiously…:sleepy: then I have a group of friends and family that game with me till like 4am. After that, Its my personal time. I use that for prayer, anime, or whatever it is I do lol

Wow, not much rest in your day. As long as it suits you, then more power to you. At least you seem to have a mix of work, social and time for yourself. That last one is vital to my wellbeing. I need a moment to unwind, decompress, process the day before I am of much use to family. Night fun with your husky sounds like a good time!

Yeah I agree with you on that one. I always need a bit of me time. Without it i go crazy.
You would think playing with a husky at 1am is fun right? shes craaaazy though! I regret getting her used to playtime during that time. If im late to get home, she wakes up my neighbors lmfao. Drama queen 100&
