I hear you, making friends takes time.
I found some lovely people who turned into real friends in adulthood. Most of them through mutual interests and volunteer work. It started off with meeting them at the same settings, be it workshops or volunteer meetings/work, we chatted, over time we started sharing more private things, called or met outside our mutual interests, stayed in touch, shared our lifes and what’s going on, built up trust.
It’s a slow, honest process and it requires to like the people enough to put in time, listen, share and get to know them. There is no recipe, some of my friends I hear twice a year, some regularly, some every now and then, one daily. All of this is fine. When I miss them, I call or text and say it. When I think of them same.
Just sharing how I found friends as an adult. Please take what’s helpful and leave the rest.
I always come on here as this is one od my main supports for addiction. Ill also pray to my HP. I find that helps me feel not so alone. At times, I attend an online meeting but my go-tos are this forum and my HP.
How are you doing anyway? Hope ur okay ![]()
That’s a lot to go through and doesn’t sound easy by any means. You are doing good for reaching out, it really does help. I hope you are feeling better today.
I did not see this post. Oh gosh. It sounds like things with you and your husband are not very well. I hope keeping this thread open for you can give you a place to go for now. I’m so sorry you are going through this. And alone.

Much love to you friend. You are loved and have a lot of people here that care for you. Glad to see you connecting and staying in touch.
It is a comfort to realize that we are not alone in being lonely. Weird as that may seem. Sending you hugs and love.
So very true. I do miss the easy days of childhood in that regard. I have found that I am making some beautiful connections at the gym. Just by going on a regular and seeing the same faces I have developed some lovely relations over the year. Friends who reach out and check on me and care for my well being.
It is not as easy as when we were kids but it is possible. Like Dazer said - meetings may be a great place to form connections. I would also look into Meet ups if your time allows for it.

You are allowed to be frustrated and annoyed. I am sure you are very compassionate and doing a great job caring for him. It is a hell of a situation and a lot to deal with. Sending hugs and love my friend. Vent away …
