Oh ya. All that. Loved me some priest. Throw some clash in there, and a bunch of new wave and I’m good. It was funny when hanging with my freak friends they would say how can you listen to that new wave crap?? Usually these days when I’m driving I’m listening to xm 33.
Edit: how the hell did I forget the beastie boys…rip mca!
Bye for now…
I had, and still have pretty eclectic taste when it comes to music. At 14 I was big into Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Mötley Crüe, and Aerosmith. I also loved all the pop stuff too. Here’s the top hits from when I was 14:
That would be 1991 for me, so Cypress Hill, NWA, DJ Quick, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers…but I also really got into rave and techno too at that time.
My 3 massive albums I listened too at 14, every day getting home from school doing my homework just brings back so many happy memories 1984 wow I’m old but still love good old ska indie and punk even a mod for a short time
I think you and I would get along. The Smiths and DEVO are two of my favorite bands all-time. Smiths are #1.
I was supposed to see Morrissey and DEVO (among several others) at a festival in Los Angeles in spring of last year…the lineup was immense, enough so that I was going to travel ~3,000 miles to be there. But then…covid
I’ve already seen Morrissey once – should have been twice, but he cancelled the 2nd one. But I really want to see DEVO before it’s too late.
I grew up in the 90s I remember Duran Duran we used to do a cover of ordinary world in a hard rock heavy metal version, then the band Red did thr same thing
Deftones, Rage Against the Machine, Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys, Metallica, Weezer, The Bloodhound Gang, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins and many more
