My life is good
Dishwasher at a Italian restaurant. I like my job because I have supportive managers and a cool owner. I am able to be honest about my sobriety. It’s a good simple job which is what I need right now. I listen to audiobooks or music when I wash dishes and I also get about 20,000 steps a day because I’m also bussing tables and helping out other areas of the restaurant plus running clean stuff back to where it goes. June 6 is one year of me being at this job and that’s the longest I’ve held a job in maybe 15 years so that is something to be proud of
Plus
Free shift meal
Endless espresso and coffee
10 minute walk to work
All morning and lunch shifts
Set schedule

I’m a floor manager at a country club who also serves and bartends and whatever else needs to be done. I know that many leave this life in sobriety, but the amount of support there is unending. And so have many others. We’re in it together
