What's YOUR plan?

Thanks for all the info.. for me the hardest part is to get to the end of a full week clean: today is my new day 1, I’ll try to follow one the suggestions you wrote and try to avoid going shopping as mush as I can, since I already got rid of all the alchool at home. This time I own it to myself, need to stay clean until Christmas to celebrate it properly with all my family

Welcome here @Witoz so glad you found us. Don’t think too longterm, try to focus on staying clean and sober today! Step by step, one moment at a time is how it’s done. Looking forward to see you around, you got this :flexed_biceps:

An idea came to my mind:

I often shop my grocery online and get it delivered or pick it up. So I dont have to face my trigger foods in the supermarket.

Maybe this could be helpful for you too?

That could be an option: but on the other hand I like to pick vegetables in person

Thank you for this. I am new today and it’s 1. I drink a couple nights a week with dinner. I need to have a clear mind and not text my loving partner or anyone for that matter. I often regret what I say and it’s not healthy. The guilt consumes me. In the past I quit for long periods of time though seem to be having more difficulty this time so finding a supportive community that provides some level of commitment and accountability is helpful. I wish all on here the very best. Love and peace to all :heart::heart:

Please do not talk about yourself like that. None of us are perfect. No. Not everyone we know is an addict. But they’re also not perfect. You madeca mistake. Own it. And reboot your sobriety. If you haven’t joined a 12 step support group or faith based outreach program, please do so. :latin_cross::folded_hands:t2::heart:

This was my first read on this app and it made me feel super optimistic about my addiction which is what I needed right now! So thank you!

Honestly this lines up with how it actually feels. The first 90 days are the danger zone and pretending otherwise just messes people up. Having a plan beats relying on mood.

I’m at a month and 2 days. I am an alcoholic. I don’t drink daily, but when I do drink I may have one or many. A lot of time I overindulge when I’m in a social situation and I’m struggling right now because I feel like I can control it, deep down I know I can’t. It feels like all or nothing. I have vacation in less than two weeks and I booked it during Carnaval in Mexico (before I quit drinking), and I’m nervous I’m going to relapse while there since most of my problem is social settings. My plan is to journal and check in, distract myself with other forms of entertainment, and rest.

I’ve bumped this because I’ve noticed quite a few new community members, and this really helped me during the early part and is still helping now.

It was a sticky when I joined, it’s a shame it lost that. Newbies can benefit from reading this.

I made a list of reasons that drinking doesn’t serve me

I’ll tune into my virtual AA meeting if needed

I’ll post here for support if I’m in imminent danger of relapsing

A macro plan for sobriety is helpful — similarly, you can try healing gemstones like citrine (positive energy) and black tourmaline (grounding/support) as part of healthy habits. Trust me it really helps I’ve personally tried it and got successful results.
