Yes!! We adopted feral brothers at 8 weeks and they were my first kittens ever. We watched all the YouTube videos about socializing and then just winged it. I think they turned out okay so far. Hit me up with any questions and I’ll do my best. Enjoy that sweet little one!
Here’s a pic of my littles when they first stopped hiding:
Been a long time since I had kittens, but one thing that won’t lead you wrong is to not use anything as toys that you wouldn’t want a full grown cat clawing at. Mostly hands. It can be cute and fun now but less so when she’s a full grown murder machine.
Oh I love the colouring! Tortoise shell? She’s so sweet. I had a tortoise shell before named Mia.
First tip… Lots of scratching posts!!! my kitten loves the cardboard or sisal posts. A nice cat tree by a window if possible. My Lola hasn’t scratched our furniture but she’s a chewer (mostly of baseboards!). I use a no chew spray to deter her. I put tinfoil on places I don’t want her to jump on. Most cats don’t like it so they avoid areas covered with tinfoil. Don’t use your hands as play toys unless you want to be constantly attacked, and if you figure out how to get the kitten to sleep through the night please share any tips on that because Lola still thinks it’s playtime at 2:00 in the morning
My 8 year old cat also thinks that it is a great time to wake us up at 2 o’clock to play with us. Or because the food bowl is empty. And sometimes she wakes us up more often.
Likes to chill near by me. This picture is from now, he’s hiding his feet below him. It looks zen.
He always has a bit of an angry look in his eyes, but believe me there is no such thing in this cat!
He has a soft friendly spirit.
Glad he choose me in the shelter to took him home
She seems pretty well Matt. For an old lady with kidney failure. After some missed attempts I found some prescription food she likes and eats well. She still drinks more than average but not ridiculously much. And she has thrown up just once since the last vet visit. So all in all not bad. Thanks for asking.
