Brilliant, it is like a universal cat pose

You have got me looking back at old cat photos, love them!

Some favourites, not coping in the heat…

There is a backstory here, no hamster was in the cage at the time

So my cat Zelda is super old with bad arthritis in her hips and especially her left knee. She still uses her current litter box, but the entry way is pretty high. I’ve tried a box specially made for old cats and kittens, but there is no cover for it and thus she won’t use it. I worry about when it becomes too much for her, so I’ve been doing some digging.

I found this do-it-yourself idea, and I thought it was a fantastic idea. I might give it a try, but also figured I’d share in case there is anyone who might also find it useful.

We use

Clean step my ass
And she should have her privacy.

Very much Alice approved.

Loving that, making me laugh though. The little steps, the privacy, you don’t even need to know it is a toilet. Fancier than our downstairs loo

Hello Bob, I see he has adopted the flopped approach like my cats

I did see this one, but I worried because while I see steps in, I didn’t see any steps inside the box itself. Since you actually own it, you can probably tell me if there are only steps on the outside or if the inside of the box also has little steps.

Oh man, Zelda gets litter everywhere. I wake up with a couple pieces of litter on my bed. I just think HOW??!? It drives me crazy, especially since before she became ill, I didn’t let her in the bedroom when I was sleeping and the bed was made up before she came in.

First of all. I cannot believe I’m taking a pic of one of our litter boxes :scream_cat: AND POSTING IT!!

But I’d do anything for Zeldy. I guess there aren’t steps down. But there is plenty of litter. Don’t know if this helps. Arthritic Alice handles it well. She’ll actually be 16 this spring. She’s catching up to Zeldy.

We use to have litter mud :scream::scream::scream: in our bed from our old boy O’Malley. What are ya gonna do?
I know he was worth it.

Aww O’Malley. Of course he was worth it!

Old cats are so hard sometimes. You want them to be comfortable and happy. If only they spoke human!

Thank you for the picture! It does actually help. Right now, she is good with getting into the high rise litter box entry way she already has, but I worry about when she can’t. Who knows how long she’s going to live at this point.

There are these boxes with low entry for old cats and kittens. Really useful! Except that they don’t have a lid. :frowning: Zelda refused to use it, so now I have this useless litterbox. I’ve thought of putting dirt in it and growing a bed of catnip or grass she could lay in.

Kelly doesn’t think it’s much of a step down with all the litter in there.

I posted this a really long time ago. It’s a fun one. Kelly carefully got out of bed to of course not disturb the cats. And when I came back in the bedroom saw this :joy: just had to grab the camera.
Joe and O’Malley 2 of felines finest.

Yes we had litter in the bed.
