The economy has been especially hard on ranchers. Theft has become a huge problem: some cat herds are now half the size they were a few years ago.

Some ranchers are even using dummy animals to confuse the cat rustlers:

Oh Lola I am so sorry for your loss. I had to say goodbye to my Matty well over a year ago, and I still miss him. When a cat occupies a piece of your heart, it will be theirs forever.
