Which of these businesses does not belong

Here is the businesses that are in the strip mall where I work out:

Nail Salon
Nutrition consultant
Liquor Store
HOTWORX (exercise studio)
Holistic Healing
Hair Salon
Burn Boot Camp (exercise studio)

Which of these businesses seems…hmmmm…out of place?

Holistic healing? Is that like voodoo or something? Clearly they have to go

Burn boot camp. That’s market saturation and a bad business model

They seem harmless…but I walk fast by the door.

They lost me at “Burn”…

Would you believe… I went for a pedicure last week and the day spa had a sign by the front desk, proudly announcing that they are now licensed to serve alcohol during treatments! People… really? :woman_facepalming:

I’m glad I’ve made my peace with the fact that it’s basically, almost everywhere… but not in this girl. :orange_heart:

Yeah…I’ll pass on that. Hopefully the nail technicians will, too!!! I know day spas offer wine. I guess massages and pampering just aren’t relaxing enough. :woman_shrugging::interrobang::confused:

For normies that seems pretty cool tbh. It’s also a good business model. For most of the population alcohol is fine. Just because I have a problem with booze doesn’t mean I should project that problem on society.

I use to do Bloody Mary’s and pedis :joy: :joy: :joy:
I guess I frown on that now. :frowning::frowning::frowning:
Why?
Because I don’t drink anymore!

I see they have a shop for exercising will power. How kind of them to think of everything.

After you’ve worked out, done some healing work, made up your nails and hair, and chatted about nutrition, you can confidently walk past and feel good about your life choices.

I only go to the one exercise studio, but it is very empowering to come out after a workout, look at the liquor store, and think “no way”. Most of the time I don’t even notice it!

Sounds like the perfect strip mall for a WASP? Lol

As a commercial real estate broker, I’m wondering why they have two competing businesses in such a small strip
The rest compliment each other nicely, even the liquor store. BUT, I can totally see what you’re saying. I guess it’s a different type of “zen” :joy:

I see that all the time! Autozone on one corner and O’Reilly’s across the way. Healthy competition I guess!

My gym’s conveniently placed right in between a Pizza Hut and a pub :tipping_hand_man:t2:

Yes, that is common because more often than not, you can’t control who moves across the street (can depend on owner, city, zoning etc). However, landlords tend to limit type of use and/or tenants will ask for exclusivity in the shopping center. So when it’s in the same center is where you don’t see a whole lot of it unless it’s a larger sized center.
