Why are these fucking viruses so obsessed with me?

My school year is divided by 5 periods. Each leading up to a test week. Nothing but tests for a week. First period I had to be quarantined twice for a total of 23 days, once I had the cold, once my sister had covid. I flunked that test week. Today starts the second test week. I studied well. But now my sister might have covid again, and I’m developing covid symptoms, drippy nose and a soar throat, so could be your run off the mill influenza or cold. But I have to be tested again, so I’ll miss a huge chunk of this test week. FUCK!!! This is also giving me quite some cravings to use technology recreational, no gaming cravings yet though
GOD, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

Guess I’ll be on here quite a bit the next few days

Darn.
Not fun at all. I’m sorry you’re getting sick and stuck again. You know going into technology too much is a slippery slope and gaming will not wreck just a test week but probably a lot more.

My highschool had similar periods with tests-only weeks. I still remember the pressure and the anxiety if you couldn’t take a test bc of sickness.
Yes, it’s sh*t now but it will be ok. You are a bright young man with a future.

They stick a specialised cotton swab so high up your nose, you think it’s gonna penetrate your brains, then they stick the same cotton swab very deep down your throat.
I’ve experienced more pleasant things

Perhaps drop the course for now so you can save your GPA and then take it over when actual school is back in session. Just a thought to consider.

I wish that was an option, sadly the Dutch school system is very different from the American I think.
From ages 4-12 or groups you go to elementary school. There you have group 1-8 and you progress a group each year. Then onto high school where you enter the best level of education for you. I have the highest, where it’s standard six years(age 12-18) or six classes. At the start of class 4 you choose your profile (all the subjects you want to take the next 3 years). All subjects on that profile are mandatory for the entirety of those 3 years and since I’m now in class 5, I can’t drop one and have to take all those missed tests spread over this year.
Thanks for the suggestion though, if it would have been a possibility, I definitely would have done it.

Holland is a beautiful nation. I was there long ago when I was 13 years old. My mother was from Switzerland. We visited my grandparents in the summers. The year we went to Holland and other beautiful places we bought a new 1973 Volkswagen Bus and traveled around in the bus and a tent. Good times and happy memories. :sunglasses:

I feel very blessed to live here, despite the terrible approach at covid. I live in an UNESCO global geopark. When I cycle to school I’m for the majority of the ride surrounded by beautiful nature
