Why do Americans

Everything is bigger in America…including the people. When we were in Europe, the people were noticeably thinner, and the portions much more reasonable.

My mom gets so mad at the portions of meals in restaurants. Drives her nuts. She gets even more mad that people feel like they have to finish it. She takes it home and eats it for a week.

I like the American portion size. At least you never leave the restaurant hungry. Here I think it’s mostly over prized for to little food. I think the size of people depends more on the food culture. For example my American friends drinks about a gallon of Sweet tea/ day. That amount of sugar makes me scared. I love Sweet tea to, but I make mine sugarfree.

Americans love their sugar. Most of those Starbucks drinks that people drink daily are like 1500 calories.

I know, I’m counting. And I usually make copy cat starbucks at home, sugar and dairy free. It could be because closets Starbucks is like 50 Swedish miles away :joy: but still. That’s also a thing in US, most if the country is based on riding by car. Here we usually walk or go by bike if it ain’t a really long distance. That also affects people’s weights and habits.

I’m a walker. My car mainly just gathers cobwebs. I walk to work and home daily, and I walk home for lunch daily. That’s 4 miles right there.

That’s great ö, but it’s not possible everywhere. At the place we use to visit you can’t walk to places like the grocery store as you can do here.

Lol, no we did not, @Yoda-Stevie. Thank you for setting me straight.

Say it with me…'Merica…effinAAA!

Yeah, we’re a land of refrigerators and microwaves. Leftovers for the win!

Only gotcha is when you order something that really isn’t as good the next day. Otherwise, it’s great knowing I’ll get to enjoy something twice.

Next time you come, hit the Great American Buffet restaurant. Some large folks frequent this place. One price, all-you-can-eat.

You’re speaking to a Swedish lady here… 3am or 3pm both could mean pitch dark night or full sunshine where she lives…
