Does anyone have experience with this? I had been drinking so much lately after my father died and ended up giving myself alcoholic gastritis and after two weeks of not being able to eat, but throwing up non stop, all while trying to keep a buzz to keep withdrawal away I said enough. I’m doing this again and for good this time.
I went to my doctor and I’ve got meds and I’m at home. But the pain is so intense that the gastritis is probably worse than the withdrawal. Anyone have any tips on how they eased their symptoms?
My alcoholic gastritis was super intense as well. They actually suspected acute pancreatitis in the ER from how my pain registered. The thing that helped, being totally honest, was just following the doctor’s directions (especially regarding diet), not drinking and giving my stomach time to heal. That and accepting it was going to suck for a while. I’m not aware of any other tips or tricks, unfortunately. The first day of giving my stomach a complete break was by far the worst, it got better from there. Once it actually has a chance to get the healing started, it will do so. You’re on the right track, just hang in there.
