Withdrawal day 1

I had a terrible relapse that lasted 5 days of non stop drinking, I’ve used this app before and it really helped last time but I did not stick with it. I’m currently shaking in my bed trying not to overthink but it’s almost impossible. Can someone please chat with me and let me know it’s going to be ok.

Drink plenty of fluid ( nonalcoholic) Try and get some rest. You will be ok. I remember many days being right where you are today. Hangover, feeling like was dying. Nerves firing off, skin burning, heart racing. But the good news is if you don’t pick up today. You start feeling and tomorrow you won’t wake up freshly hangover. Then tomorrow do the same. But first let’s just do today. Take hot shower and Get lots of rest and read around here.

Thank you so much for the reply. It’s just nice knowing others are here. Some of the other apps just feel very robotic

This community has been a life saver me. There is a lot of caring and support people on here. Reading others journey to sobriety was very helpful and give me hope that I could too. And I have. You will get through this day. Stay sober today with me.

Good morning my friend
I’ve been there too

For me I just wanted someone to believe I would stop.

I remember one terrible relaps I was in bed hopeless. I texted my dad I can stop, do you believe me. He texted back I believe. Then I fell asleep

I believe you can stop for good but it won’t be easy. It’ll be simple but not easy.

No more drinking ok
It’s a very good thing

Update ;; still shaking I’ve been able to cover my window and climb back into bed. I still feel so alone  it’s been a rough couple of hours.

Hang in there! We all have been there and we are all with you right now! There’s only one thing that can help you, and that is Sober Time. No alcohol, drink a ton of water,… Do whatever makes your mind ease, for me it was watching old westerns, but everyone is different. Every second, every minute, that passes you are that much closer to feeling better again. You can do it! Stay on here and keep us posted!

Been right where you are many times.

For the longest time I used to think it was normal. Just part of having a few “big nights out”.

Understanding that it was not normal, and not ok scared me and compounded the situation. That’s where you are today.

When you can try and get some dehydration salts (or isotonic drinks - non caffeinated). They help you level out your salts ok.

I believe you can stay sober.

@Loquito Every minute you spend feeling this way is one step closer to feeling better, you are making progress and it WILL GET BETTER.

If it gets to be too much go to the hospital and tell them you need to detox. They will help you.

Message me if you need help I’ll be at work but I will reply when I can.

HANG IN THERE praying for you

I was actually thinking of going to the walk in clinic up the road: im not as rough now buts its only been 5 hours and the time is moving so slow! Listening to the sober elevation podcast is helping hearing others stories.

I can feel the pain and exact place you are in. It’s a tough place to be. The substance high is coming down and it’s back to reality and the brain unfortunately doesn’t know what to do. It may be good to go get checked at the clinic to make sure all is okay.

Keeping alcohol out of your body is the best thing you can do to heal and move forward. You don’t ever have to feel this way again. Here for you & rooting for you. Take it one second at a time it will get easier as time moves forward.

I’ve made my way to the walk in clinic, I’m going to already try to get a doctors note so my job is atlest secure somehow.

I made my way to my first AA meeting, it was virtual but it was still a meeting. Anxiety has barely left though! Tomorrow is going to suck!
