woke up with a weird feeling a almost hungover feeling even tho its been 115 days since my last drink, it could have been due to the lack of sleep ive been getting (darn you insomnia/anxiety) but nonetheless it reminded me how much i don’t miss that feeling and how far I’ve come along, today i am #thankful for my sobriety
It happens. The 2 biggest contributors to a hangover are lack of sleep and dehydration. I find that I’ll wake up parched and dried up if I drink too much sparkling water (as it usually contains sodium). Add in a bout of PAWS and you have a recipe for a faux hangover!
Hydrate and rest and tomorrow will be fantastic!
I don’t know what it’s like where you live but seasonal allergies can often have me feeling hungover……I think it’s from mouth breathing as I sleep due to nasal congestion .
It’s not uncommon to occasionally wake feeling some hangover symptoms, such as headache, nausea, fatigue. Alcohol isn’t the only root cause for these symptoms. Dehydration, poor sleep, a virus that’s trying to latch on, etc.
Hangover was an almost daily experience during my drinking days. Those physical symptoms were well known to me. Now it’s a rare day that I wake not feeling refreshed and ready to go, and when it does happen, there’s a solid explanation. Maybe I didn’t go to sleep at my usual time. Maybe I didn’t drink enough water or had eaten something loaded with sodium for dinner. Maybe I didn’t sleep well due to some minor anxiety or worry. Maybe my sleep was interrupted for some reason. Maybe I am coming down with something.
But one thing I can be 100% certain of is that I am not hungover. I won’t drink, because I don’t drink. I have become a non-drinker.
