Women's hormonal roller-coaster

Women typically hurt themselves and go interior, men start wars and hurt each other.

Today I feel like posting here… I’ll be 48 in a few days time, and my cycle is a bit crazy at this stage of my life. I didn’t have my period for 2 months and today out of the blue it came. Usually there was this regular cycle with warning signs, bad mood a few days before, kind of feeling depressed, the pain bla bla. And this time nothing! I can certainly feel a change is coming, and I don’t know if I’m happy or not happy! I never wanted kids, that’s not the issue, but I see colleagues struggling with menopause and it’s kind of discomforting! Anyway, I’m just ranting I guess! :woman_shrugging:

Girls sorry for offtopic but I just want to share and from all the threads this one fits the most

So, my oldest (7yo) had a diarrhea last week, pretty heavy, couple of days, close to whole week actually. Unfortunately he had some wet farts situations and to spare another boxers I started to stick my liners in his underpants  I know, weird idea, but it works! He asked me what am I using them for actually and I didn’t know what to say so I just said just for this, to protect my panties. Now he thinks his mama sharts
I will explain him one day but not now, I’m not ready for this  I’m not ready for all those questions

This is so cute!

If anything, you probably made him feel seen because mama sharts just like him. :face_holding_back_tears:

You are a wonderful mother. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Fuck fuck fuck i either have stomach cancer or period cramps. I never got bad cramps before but i swear im getting them more as im getting older. Ibuprofen and curled up on the couch

I also have this impression. I take ibuprofen now even before the pain starts because once they start the pain killers won’t help or it takes a lot. I glad it’s only 1 1.5 days. In bed a heating bottle is good.

Hello lovely ladies,

Small life update: tomorrow I’m starting hormone replacement therapy. Apparently my body and I have decided to experiment a little further.

I’m already on a gestagen birth control pill, which has been doing an impressive job keeping my period under control. Now we’re adding estrogen gel to the situation and seeing what happens.

If anyone here has experience with this combination, I’d love to hear how it went — side effects, surprises, things you wish you’d known, or general reviews of the “estrogen era.”

Many thanks :purple_heart:

I had the Mirena coil inserted for progesterone and use Oestrogen gel (2 pumps a day) on my skin. After a few months using it, It evened me out more and seemed to reach areas the antidepressants weren’t able to get to. One thing I would say is that my sleep improved the most noticeably with oestrogen, alongside lessening the feeling stabby emotions. It’s an improvement for sure, not perfection, but better.

I have a gynaecology appointment next month so I’ll discuss it further.

Good luck.

Does anyone else experience fluctuating symptoms of PMS at least a week before their estimated time of period begins?

I know I have been having tension headaches from stress but I suspect I have been also experiencing PMS. I have a persistent mild headache for about 5 days now and I don’t really want to rely on painkillers for it until absolutely necessary. It’s tolerable but it’s adding to my stress too…

I’m not sure but I have a lot of headaches lately, might be hormonal. I usually diagnose them as:
I probably didn’t have enough of water / weather / stress / not enough sleep / I must had eaten something weird / must be all that wind / kids are noisy… You name it
But I do notice that my enormous appetite (especially for sweets) starts about a week before my period. Not 2-3 days as before.

Thank you for your reply!

Yeah, I’ve also been craving more sweet and salty food lately too. I guess it’s the normal to-be-expected hormonal fluctuation that having a period brings.
