I haven’t forgotten. But hey at least you keep trying. I did the same thing for years habitually relapsing. Once the pain became great enough though I was willing to try something totally different. I’m glad you’re still here and staying honest thats awesome in itself. Keep you’re head up Julia

Pain is a great motivator. I kept trying it my way, and of course it didn’t go well. Eventually the pain became great enough I was willing to try anything. That’s when I fully committed to AA and I’ve been sober ever since

One thing I seem to forget, especially on here, is that you can’t scare an alcoholic into sobriety. I’ve seen plenty of people drink themselves into early graves after being told by every doctor they needed to stop, but they didn’t care. Or maybe they did care and just didn’t know how to stop. Either way they are dead. I don’t know what the difference is between them and me (other than my status of alive) that gave me the desire to get sober. I don’t know why I survived long enough to get that …
