Hey, thanks for thinking of me. I am alright insofar as I am sober. That is not a small thing.
But the overall picture is still that I’m stuck in a “frozen crisis” of sorts when it comes to my mental health. It is a real fight to kep fighting. I have real doubts that I can win.
But I think I’ve gained some insight recently as to why I can’t seem to dig myself out of this hole. Just haven’t figured out how to use it yet. But man, if I can just get the right help to make enough of a start, I can go places. Knowing what I went through to get sober, I know I can get well, too. (by “well” I don’t mean cured, I mean living my best life allowed by whatever my underlying conditions are). I just haven’t been able to get that “start”.
Better this problem though, than the “dead” problem I’d have if I didn’t stay sober.

Kind of sad reading all these. I was on here in like 2020 and 2021 and just came back. Anyways, back then there was a group that did zoom calls. Definitely a younger guy in his maybe 30s from Scotland, I believe a young woman in England, a person or two in Florida. Can’t remember the rest. Hope they’re all well.

It does seem to turn over quickly. I’m sad but do see all the new folks that are looking for community- and some even go back and read our old posts, and watched as we got better over time…and felt inspired! I used to do that early on. I loved to imagine that I too would have what they had, in time.

There was a guy who was maybe in his 50s or 60s who was from Arizona I believe and he used to say ‘I’m not drinking today and I’m probably not tomorrow.’ His take on one day at a time. Never forgot that, never will.
