Welcome! We all went through that. Honestly, it isnt as bad as you think…we all overthink that part. I learned that if my “friends” had an issue with me not drinking…are they really friends.
Good luck! Reach out if you need help.

Now that’s an accomplishment!! 40 days and making it through the Holidays. Good for you
Welcome Meg
Someone on TS said they always have a drink of sparkling water in hand so no one has to offer them a drink. I always kept my wine glass filled with good fresh sparkling water for the first few months.
Hope to see you around.
Welcome Lana nice to meet you. It sounds like you live in an amazing place.
I thought wine was my friend too. This is a great place for support. I couldn’t do it alone. Keep coming back. Your worth it if you work it.

One day at a time
Hi, first day on here. DOCs are alcohol and food. Happy and scared to join a community and commit. Here’s to a new path!
Hy all,
My name is François and my doc is / was heroin for the past 9 years. Am now sober from the end of August. And I’m still doing fine, even without really bad moments of weakness. Although I believe they will come.
Downloaded this app on a tip from a good friend and fellow.
Welcome Francois! It sounds like you have a wise friend!
Looking forward to seeing you around this great community.
Hi I’m Dean from hot springs village Arkansas USA .clean 44 days. Doc alcohol
Hello Lana,
I hope you made it to the end of the day sober. Keep stacking up the days, one by one. We get to live today and only in today.
There were two things that I learned very early on in my sobriety:
Welcome to Talking Sober, it’s a great tool. Blessings on your house as you being your recovery.
Stay sober! Dan
My name is Erwin, I’m 27 years old and almost to 100 days of being sober. DOC was alcohol, it’s not my first time getting sober, probably tried over 50 times before this time, at one point 10 days seemed impossible and now 100 days seems like I’m barely starting. Alcohol robbed me of my myself, what once started as a once-in-a-while thing ended up turning into a daily thing. Alcohol made me hate myself, it was messing with my head, I felt like shit not just physically inside and out, but mentally as well. So happy that I am now sober, it honestly feels amazing to now that I have accomplished something that at one point felt impossible, and that’s giving up alcohol. I’m not even super active on the forum but just the fact of knowing that if I ever feel lonely in my sobriety, I can always come here and feel comfortable knowing that I’m not the only person dealing with alcoholism and sobriety.
I’ve just read your post, wow what an achievement love. You have overcome so much in your life
Your not alone. I’m new to this forum
Thx Laura livingsober

Welcome to the forums, glad to have you here.
In fact when I got sober I realized how much alcohol increases my anxiety and PTSD symptoms
