2021 roll call - introduce yourself!

Welcome Josh. If it was possible for me, it is possible for you! It doesn’t matter how much or how long you drank, it matters what it did to you and to your soul. And I was a guy completely disconnected from soul and at odds with every principle I’d ever incorporated into my life.

I threw the kitchen sink and everything in it at my sobriety, I won’t kid you that it was an easy gentle path. I needed medication, counseling, meetings, accountability, readings, etc etc etc. As long as I was willing to do things to get and stay sober, I found it relatively easy to stay away from a drink. But the willingness part, that was the hard work.

It is possible and it is better, a far better life than I had when I was drinking. Welcome aboard!

I agree with you. I didn’t realize how much more manageable my anxiety was when I didn’t have alcohol making up stories and lies in my head.

@Dazercat Thanks for the encouragement! I have a never tried AA before because I struggle with a lot of social anxiety and i guess just anxiety in general. I downloaded the sober time app today because i have been having a rough week. With everyone reaching out today my outlook is already more positive.
Thanks

Hi. I’m Ponch, DOC alcohol. Sober 31 days today. This is my third real attempt in the last 7 years or so. Put together about 18 months once. I’m high functioning (don’t crash cars or get locked up), but miserable just the same. Hoping to put this behind me once and for all this time. Really like this app and forum.
