You know, my son and I used to watch this way back when he was in middle school. I was actually thinking of this show the other day because of what I did learn from it. How during the intervention the mom is usually the last to oblige to it, etc… but I did learn from it that you have to let it/him go; that enabling him was not helping. I’ve had to do this and it’s soooo friggin hard but it’s my last chance/resort to hopefully save him.

I miss that show. We got rid of cable but I used to watch intervention all the time.

That was one of the biggest issues with the gaming addiction episode Donna. They were twin brothers spending 13 hours a day on gaming/porn. But their mother paid ALL their bills, including rent! They didn’t work or pay any bills. I think it puts it into perspective how many people deem acts of service as their language of love. And how that in turn can become enabling.

I love intervention! I used to watch it while drinking and in some twisted way justified that “oh im not that bad” lol addiction takes all forms and you decide your bottom. I havent watched an episode since getting sober in May. Itd be interesting to see if im triggered. The brain is an interesting specimen and the human condition facinates me
