Hello! Day two is off to a good start, though I will admit that the thought of grabbing a drink has been with me all day so far. I am doing good fighting off the temptation. Plus it is a great sunny day where I live. If I get the chance I want to take a long walk

I am considering going to a meeting. My only problem is I take care of my mother who has dementia. Oh man. It has been a hard day for me at home. I know she doesn’t hate me but she is so mean. I had a drink. I am going to try to not have anything else, I don’t have any in the house but I’m sitting here feeling so down

How are you doing now, feeling any better?

Thank you guys so much for being here with me! I am doing pretty good, I’m happy to say that I only had the one drink yesterday even though the temptations stayed with me. Today is off to a good start.

The fact that you keep showing up and being honest says a lot about your commitment, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. Every day one builds on the last, even the tough ones. You’re not starting from scratch, you’re starting from experienc.

I am doing it again staying sober only 21 days now. I know it’s a hard thing not to drink. I had to check myself into a center just to get this far this time. I have a hard time everyday with one thing or another. It’s a good start talking about your issues and being completely honest. Have you been to any AA meetings or got you the Big Book? I have found people in recovery helps a lot and more you can get to talk with the less you will encounter the temptations. Hope all is well tonight if not let’s talk

Hi! I am happy to report, well, not 100% but a lot less than my usual daily amount. I have not been to an AA meeting but am looking into the online meetings. What is the Big Book? I am ready to talk to about it all, I bet it will help me come to terms and figure out how I can move forward and be happy

Alcoholics Anonymous (The Big Book):

  • “The Big Book” is the official title of the book “Alcoholics Anonymous,” first published in 1939.
  • It’s a foundational text for the Alcoholics Anonymous program, which focuses on recovery from alcoholism.
  • The book outlines the 12 Steps of recovery, along with personal stories and guidance for individuals in recovery.
  • It’s considered a cornerstone resource for those seeking support in overcoming addiction.

Before I went to AA I found the audio of chapter 3 to be very helpful. I listened to it over and over again on my walks.

I’m looking forward to celebrate your reaching the milestones with you. Take care and congratulations on starting a new beginning

So? What’s your status now?

Hey. I’m back at day one. As many times as I try to keep on the path, I get so stressed out and down taking care of my mother. Just so you know, she is doing as great as she can, dealing with stage 5 (I didnt even know there was a stage 5 until our last visit with the nephrologist) kidney disease and dimentia. I really wish I had time to dedicate myself to getting better, for me especially

As much as I want to stop, at the moment I am thinking about going to the store. I am going to go for a walk to help me get the thought out of my brain
