Just watching this now. Always wondered what a room full of alcoholics looks like
The Pharmacist on Netflix
This is very dark. Thank you for sharing. A great reminder to stop the cycle as soon as possible.
I just watched this, it made me cry.
This is great. This is not a movie for family night.
Was hard to watch
This one for the Dutchies as it is in Dutch, called alone with Dutch Gin. I liked it. A daughter reconstructing the apartment her alcoholic dad isolated himself and drank himself to death in during the last 8 years of his life. And from that place reconstructing his life and her and others relationship to him. @SoberWalker @ShadowFax seen it?
Yes! I saw this last weekend on the NPO. Sad story… Nobody deserves to end like this…
Bob and The Monster (Amazon Prime) is probably the best addiction documentary I’ve ever seen.
In addition, and it’s not all about addiction but enough that is relevant and relatable, Some Kind of Monster, the Metallica documentary. Some of what James says after he returns from rehab not only helped me get sober but I often find myself returning to quotes from the whole film.
I’ve seen it Menno, like @ShadowFax Roland says: sad story. Sad for him and all around him.
But thank you for the tip.
I watched this early on and had a lasting impact. It’s interesting to see all the various stages of alcoholics. I realized that I’ve passed some of the early phases already and was on my way to the later stages. Scary! It really is a progressive disease.
I came across this on my very early days on TS someone had posted it. I guess it might not qualify as a documentary but it helped me a lot at a very pivotal point in my struggle.
Hope I never end up like that
This is not a documentary, just someone filming from his car in Kensington Philadelphia and putting the video on YT. As they have been doing for some time now. It’s a bit bystander porn TBH. Incredible and terrible to watch. Get’s quite a lot of views. I post the link here because it does document what street drugs does to people in the USA though.
Somebody mentioned this documentary from 2006 in another group today. I just watched it, and it’s certainly some raw stuff, something you’d wanna watch every time you consider that booze will solve any of your problems.
Check out the soft white underbelly channel on YouTube. This man interviews a lot of people who are struggling with addiction amd living on skid row.
