And it's goodnight to all

when he was 8 weeks we did that but he learnt to climb it and kept getting stuck and would go mental, as soon as we took him out he goes to bed pretty good, but he just wants us all up early in the morning, we ignore him for ages but I think he just gets lonely, he sits with me all day, goes and gets his toys and stares me out till I play with him. He loves hugs and when I get up or home from work he just rolls over on his back and submits for a belly rub… I used to fucking hate dogs.

My pup does that to me on the weekends when I’m home - stares at me all day if I’m not playing with him, gets his toys and brings them to me etc. I feel bad leaving him for work every day - he gives me these big sad eyes every single morning. Even if we go on a walk before work. He would just play all day, every day with us if he could. I know he’s bored when I get home from work but I’m tired when I get home. He makes me feel so guilty. I know he doesn’t do it on purpose but ever since I’ve gone back to working full time I feel like he’s mad at me. :frowning: How old is your dog now? Mine is 4 and he’s mellowed out a bit the older he gets.

I think we suffer with the same dog empathy as well :joy: :joy:. Mine will physically shake when he knows he’s being left for 10 hrs. luckily I work about 10 minutes away so we go feed him at one. but yeah guilt trip.

Too bad they can’t be friends and keep each other company during the day. My husband says we need another dog so they can play together. I say that means we’d end up with two bored dogs and I’d have twice the guilt!! No thanks! :blush::dog:

another sober day done and dusted, so much talk of cake on here I had to go eat too much, watched darts tonight, first time since sober, its a trigger for me, Beer and darts. I managed to enjoy it and forgot about drinking, its funny what things you associate with your DOC. My triggers are, films, darts, boxing, football, xbox, poker, cooking tea, the radio, bowling, meals out, days out, 10 hour shifts, being happy, sad, angry, stressed, bored. Yeah if you can avoid these it’s simple. Night people. Be strong. Give yourselves a pat on the back, you deserve it.

Your triggers sound very familiar… If I’m breathing there’s likely a trigger around. Hope you can get some good rest tonight. Congrats on another day sober!

This journey is emotionally draining but it must all fall into place at some point. I’ll smile when you smile and I’ll feel your pain when your down. I’ve learnt today that people can still surprise me if I let them close enough. And it’s very important to breathe. That’s not a joke, it’s good sometimes just to take it all in, mull it round your head a bit, then big sigh and carry on. Be strong

Believe me when I say Paul, that yes it will all drop into place one day. But yes at first it’s fucking draining enough to drain a very large body of water, a big, deep body of water. Drain it like a drainy thing.
You get the picture! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

he’s not stupid he doesn’t make a noise now I’m up for work cos he knows he’s on his own all day but he’s got this uncanny sixth sense and wakes me up everytime I’ve got a day off. The little shit. :joy:
