Not my kind of music, I don’t even want to listen to it, but I’ll post it “for the cause”
Whatever was happening in the US to influence the English musicians brought out great singers like Eric Burdon and songs like this which to me are rock and I’ll roll w it all these years later. This song recorded 56 years ago.
They need to form a band together and call it that.
Or Kim²
Excellent!
Good call. She is incredible
Another important American act – The Doors
But they wouldn’t have existed without many of the aforementioned.
Menno,
Meant to send this yesterday. One of the best full shows available on YT, in my opinion. There’s actually a handful of shows from this venue around the same time (79/80)on YT that are all incredible (B-52s – that version of “Lava” I posted the other day is the opener of theirs, The Police, Parliament/Finkadelic, etc).
This is TH at their peak, they had just released Remain In Light. Backing band is excellent too, complete with Adrian Bellew and Bernie Worrell. Wouldn’t surprise me if Brian Eno was kicking around somewhere backstage.
Edit - not sure why the link is auto-jumping to the 25th minute, but oh well. If you like TH, you’ll love the whole thing.
Defo. Of all the ‘classic’ famous rock bands The Doors are my favourite.
I agree - Little Richard is number 1 for me in this particular poll…
I haven’t heard that in ages.
Excellent!
