Good thing I was gifted some new highlighters along with this book for Christmas… I may just highlight the whole thing. Filled with gems.
He is awesome, Sassy. I was reading about him this morning. What a life. I’m sure the book will be amazing!
I was gifted this little booklet last week.
Oh nice!!!
He is coming up a lot in my life lately I think it’s a sign.
While I was finishing up " Broken Open" by Elizabeth Lesser I decided to order some books so they would arrive in lots of time.
I spoiled myself…
I have finished this one and it will be a book I read time and again I just know it.
I have started “The Alchemist” and looking forward to the rest in this box set.
And I just loved the way Elizabeth Lesser approached spirituality so decided to grab “The Seekers Guide”
Lots to dive into.
Anyone else like to read? I picked it up a couple years ago and I find it to be a tremendous help with my anxiety, especially before bed. Now that I’m getting sober I’ve been trying to pick up a book when I’m thinking about wanting to drink so my mind has a healthy distraction.
I mostly like to read mysteries, with the occasional cheesy romance thrown in. Currently I’m reading “Silent Night, Deadly Night” by Vicki Delany. It’s the 4th in a series about a town in NY that basically celebrates Christmas all year long and people get murdered in suspicious circumstances. Lol Definitely a little corny, like a lifetime movie, but I like them.
Let me know what you like to read!
right on
theres a thread about reading here
This engrossing true story was published in English in the early 1970s and I devoured it as a teenager. It definitely made a lasting impression!! Also, the original film with Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen is equally as fabulous…or was to me back in the 70s. I have read the book at least twice, I may have to pick up an old copy to read again. Thank you so much for sharing.
Enjoy!!!
Mastery of love was good till I read the bible
I agree. Amen. All GLORY TO GOD.
Wow!! I devoured this book today. I had to take some breaks when she was deep in her addiction as it is so raw and intense and hits home 100%. She is a gifted writer. Beautiful work.
I’ve never heard of Elizabeth Lesser, but the other two are on my favorites list!
I actually have no idea!! I’ve never heard of this until I saw this book
Just finished Augusten Burroughs’ Dry. The ending really got me. (I’m not cryin’… It’s just sweat 'cuz my eyes are hot.) About to start another book of his, This Is How.
Thanks, @Its_me_Stella !!
