I didn’t know there was a show, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I can see how the concept would make entertaining tv. I’m nearly finished with Dark on Netflix so will defo try this next :+1:

Lovely stuff, I enjoyed the whole book, but the second half was especially cool. It gets pretty strange :upside_down_face:

Ive not heard of Cadwell Turnbull, i’ll check them out :+1:

I started Dune last week. It’s DAMN good! This is my third try, but I don’t think I was ready for the heavy, introspective shit when I tried before. It’s definitely one of those heavy hitters when it comes to making you look inside yourself and relate to things that characters are going to. Fantast is my default go to, but sci-fi has some absolute gems. This is one of them.

Ursula K. LeGuin is a very deep, introspective author as well, and writes a lot of philosophical and social commentary in her novels. The Left Hand of Darkness was really good, but it can be such a chore to read. Oi :woman_facepalming:

I’ve read a good bit of LeGuin. I like her prose a lot. The Telling was one of my favorites, as well as the first Earthsea book.

The narrative is hard to deal with, it switches point of view a lot, but the story and ideas make up for it.

Excellent, glad to hear it!! It’s up there for me too👍

I finished The Man in the High Castle and I really enjoyed it, although I’m not really sure what I read :upside_down_face: Gonna have to read a bit more about it to fully understand it I think.

Currently reading this, it’s an illustrated memoir of a guy walking the Pacific Crest Trail.

Nothing to do with sobriety per se, but I’ve always liked her.

I’m reading imaginary friend by Stephen chbosky. Had no clue it was a thriller until I started and I’m totally sucked in! Super good, not terribly terrifying and a total page turner

Thanks for the tip. No trouble getting into it right away. I hope it has a great revenge ending. I want to kill this guy.

I went to a Living Sober book study every week for about my first year. That book (and the people in that meeting) really helped me form the beginning of my understanding of my higher power and how to use it to help my recovery

I never did get a chance to fully read this before returning to library. I must get it again (or buy it) and make it a goal to read it. Thanks for reminder

I’m an empath and energy vampires are a nightmare lol… I am greatly affected and spend a lot of time not near many humans lately lol.

I am so glad I found this book! I’m also an empath and constantly experience and interact with energy vampires in my line of work. But I am starting to the patterns and behaviour for what it is sooner and sooner. This book puts a lot of ideas and words to my experience. Glad to know “it’s not me, it’s you”!
