Amazing book. Grateful to have stumbled upon it

I find myself having to re-read paragraphs in this book to really comprehend what I’m reading and think about how to apply it to my life. But damn, I’m learning so much about being present and not letting the past and future dictate my conscious thoughts.

Live in the Now and you will be happy, joyous, and free.

Great read so far. :+1:t3::call_me_hand:t3:

I’ve been wanting to order this book since Tucson. I had a lot of encounters with coyotes in Tucson and I’m curious to learn about them. My parents property is surrounded by woods and I’m going to try to get some photos. Even though I saw them way more in Tucson then I will see them here in northeast Florida . I was not going to spend the money but then I realized it’s just $20. I used to throw a $20 on liquor every day. This book will benefit me in one way or another… Hopefully it will be here tomorrow or the next day

From now on if I want to learn about something then I will find the right book and all I have to do is spend 15 minutes a day and I will learn about whatever I want to learn about … Maybe in a couple weeks I decide I want to learn about dolphins instead? That’s OK

Since I’ve been on my longest sobriety run, I’ve started examining ways to try and prolong my life and maybe undo some of the damage I’ve done to my body. So I’ve been working through this book the last couple of months and changing my diet - and it’s been for the better. I’m pleased with the results. Of course I’ve got a couple other books going but this one has been informative!

I did poke around a bit out of curiosity (that’s how I learned about Chodron), but I haven’t read the thread in detail. I’m absolutely going to though!

Out of The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober:

I don’t know why this paragraph hit me so hard, I know this. Maybe today I am really starting to understand this. Happy sober day all.

Did you read the only good Indians!? How was it?? I’ve been thinking about picking up this book

I LOOOVEE reading :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: honestly one of the best parts about being clean and living life in recovery is being able to read again because there was no way in hell I was capable of reading in my active addiction! (I tried and that was a hard no)
My reading goal for 2022 is 40 books and I’ve read 19 so far!
The DUNE series by Frank Herbert was incredible for any Science fiction lovers out there.
