I am bout to start this for one of my book clubs.

The Poisonwood bible is the only book I ever read that had me hooked from the first page. It is so so so good.

The Lacuna was phenomenal but it took me 3 tries before it finally drew me in

The Prodigal Summer has been tried countless times and I just can’t get through it

Basically she’s an incredible author, I just don’t always click with her.

Ive decided to start 2023 with cozy mysteries. Nice easy reads.

Oh goodness, Prodigal Summer is sitting right in front of me! I am not above putting it away if it doesn’t gel. I still have not read Poisonwood…will do so, thanks!!

This looks very interesting. I tried to look this up online but couldn’t tell which is the first book in the series? If you could let me know that would be awesome!! Or what is the first book in the series called ?

Are you talking about The Dog Stars by Peter Heller ? It’s a stand alone book, not a serie! I loved it, very powerful.

Yes I was talking about the dog stars. I don’t know why I thought it was a series. Thanks so much. Going to order this right now

Heard the author on the JRE podcast, and have watched a few of his lectures on YouTube. Am about 3/4 of the way through this fascinating book.
