You are Here was okay. Quite entertaining and a quick read.
Loved Clytemnestra. If Netflix made that in to a mini-series I’d be all over it, before most likely complaining that it wasn’t true to the story etc etc 
I’ve just started Verity by Colleen Hoover, largely to see what all the fuss about this author is about. I don’t get it as yet, but I’m reserving judgment…

A bit less than half through, but so far an interesting novel about women, responsibility, wisdom, life. I enjoy their writing style as well.
I enjoy readong Christian books. I just got a free book off Kobo as a new release [I had credits].
Can’t wait to dive into it.
Yesterday Tonke Dragt died, 93 years old, favourite writer of my youth. Turns out I have none of her books on my shelves, probably my sis has 'm all.
Internationally Brief aan de koning (Letter to the King) is best known, sold over a million copies by now. I need and will go out and buy at least Torenhoog en mijlen breed, which is the favourite book of my early teens. Fantasy/science fiction, after the disappearance of the forests on earth, a young explorer goes walking in the woods of Venus (it’s from 1969 OK) and meets the native people living there, who are telepathic, a gift that the main character turns out to have as well. It moves me as I write it down and I understand better now why I loved it so much .
Also the motto of the book comes from one of my favourite poems in English. Dragt spend her childhood in Indonesia and I can see now how that shaped her fantasy and points of reference. Rest in peace Tonke and thanks for what you brought to us.

I’m currently reading religious books because they help me in my sober path. I’m converting from Protestantism to Eastern Orthodoxy, so I’ve been mostly reading Orthodox books. They give me hope and comfort. But I love to also read science fiction and classics like Hemingway and Kafka. Reading is important part of my recovery.
Oh I remember a television series based on one of the books. In German it was called Das Geheimnis des siebten Weges.
Years later I remembered it and although I couldn’t source the series or the book in England, I found the audiobook to download. I still wish I could rewatch that tv series.
But maybe I have another look around what’s available as books through second hand book sellers. As long as it’s in English or German 
I’ve been reading a different style of crime novels lately.

Police procedural with the addition of an AI task force member. Very thought provoking.
Femicide - Pascal Engman
Hard hitting crime novel set in Sweden post #metoo. Very infuriating, but a good read. Lots of trigger warnings needed on this one.

Books have always been my escape, and I’m currently reading a pretty good one.
It’s called “THE CABINET OF DR. LENG” by Preston & Child. They are two authors who collaborate creatively sometimes. You’ll LOVE their books
I read several books at a time also, and use the same analogy when people ask why. It’s like turning the TV channel 
I haven’t started it yet, but I just bought Coraline (yes I know its a kids book, but I havent read it or seen the movie)
Neil Gaiman is a stud. You will get no judgement from me. Enjoy the read.
Juat finished this one…has a lot of interwoven story lines, some more successful/interesting then others. I enjoyed it and was enthralled by the end.

I’ve always loved books, but passing out drunk every night hasnt been conducive to reading… Im now racing through the pile.
I have no favourite genre, just like a book to take me on a journey.

Update…just finished this one and idk, I liked the afterword the best actually. It felt like the more authentic voice. The history in the book felt more like a thesis, than a memoir. There were definitely some aha, I totally feel that passages for me, and that afterword really shined…but not my favorite in the genre.
