Any horror movie fans?

The original “It”, from the 90’s. It was a made for T.V. mini-series with Tim Curry as Pennywise.

I remember it. Pennywise used to scare the crap outta me.

I was definitely going to suggest Creep/2. Those were wild. That type of cringe gets me.

And I liked the new Invitation, but it did feel like it was made for women, plus I’m a sucker for fangs. I’ll have to look for the other one.

Ever remember walking into a CD store and suddenly you forget any music you like? That’s me, but I scanned my Netflix to find a few I really liked, and whats left of my dvds. Very different genre’s.

Creep and Creep 2 - DylanL is right about those.
The Block Island Sound
Cam (warning PMO trigger)
Darkness (2002)
The Platform
The Fourth Kind
Ghost Stories - it’s 4 or 5 shorts - I had low expectations but it surprised the hell out of me.
Archive 81 - show

These ones I watched drunk but they stood out to me so I hope they’re as good as I remember

The Ritual
Prey
A Classic Horror Story
His House

And if you like vampires

Rise
30 days of Night
Midnight Mass - show

Also worth a watch: “Village of the Damned”, 1960. Creepy children.

Same! I’ve watched so many horror movies, they rarely phase me. Then there was Smile. That movie creeped me out, I’m getting shivers just by thinking about it. Processing: Screenshot_20230912_095120_Chrome.jpg…

I really had high hope for Smile and Prey for the Devil cause the previews were super creepy and they were newer movies. The old horror movies just make me laugh.

They were both well done and I liked the plot of Smile but they didn’t give me my horror thrill.

Excited to check out a few new ones in this thread … tis the season to be spooked :flushed:

Oh I loved Midnight Mass and 30days of Night! I also just went to see the last voyage of the Demeter. It was so great!

Pray for the devil was such a disappointment and The Popes Exorcist. The new Nun was great.

Totally agree…you would think that possession type movies would be so great.

For me none hold a candle to the original Exorcist. But even that for me now is like whatever - could be cause I’ve already watched it and know what to expect

Really love this thread and looking forward to getting my horror on

I’ll have to look for that now  And you’re right about the Popes Exorcist. It started alright but then the story/CGI got cheesy.

I’m with @JazzyS on this thread :+1: Glad you created it :ghost:

This community is great. Horror is one of my favorite genres. I’m actually in the beginning phases of launching a horror centric podcast named “Come Nightfall”.

Smile jumped the shark but started pretty strong…

Barbarian however was :ok_hand:

Barbarian had an twist to it that i wasn’t expecting but way too many questions at the end and really did not spark any horror just bewilderment — for me at least.

Saw this a couple weeks ago. Decent, has a few convoluted metaphors attempting Babadook type symbolism. Perhaps geared a bit towards gen z but overall a successful film debut from Philippou brothers. I give it 5.5/10
